The stationary OIL STOP 4 unit is designed for extracting and filtering oil mist.
Air contaminated with oil mist from machine operation enters the OIL STOP filter unit and passes through a first stage centrifugal/mechanical separation chamber, which consists of a helical system and a metal screen. The centrifugal inlet chamber has the same cross-section as the inlet opening, thus reducing the possibility of pressure drop. Due to the centrifugal force created by the air velocity inside the centrifugal separator, the heavy mist falls on the spiral insert and is separated from the air. The screen in the chamber prevents the air stream from re-entering and drives it to slide along the walls of the chamber and fall down by gravity into the oil collection hopper. The oil is then collected in a small tank or through a siphon for continuous discharge and recycled if necessary.
A large portion of the oil droplets in suspension have now been separated and the air now passes through a mechanical drop separator (optional equipment) and a wire metal mesh pre-filter. Thanks to the effectiveness of these three levels of filtration, all oil mist has been removed from the air stream.
To further remove any remaining contaminants such as micro-mists and oil fumes/smoke, the air passes through a high-efficiency pleated filter made of ultra-fine glass fiber filter material and finally passes through a HEPA filter (OIL STOP/RH variant). The air is finally discharged through a discharge grille located at the top of the OIL STOP unit.
The G2 (pre-filter) and F9 (main filter) class filter media used in the OIL STOP unit construction provide a very high filtration level of 95% and up to 99.95% with the H13 HEPA filter (OIL STOP/RH version). If unpleasant odors are to be eliminated, the OIL STOP unit can be optionally equipped with a carbon filter integrated into the soundproofed fan housing (optional).
For specific odor removal applications, detailed pollutant composition is required to ensure proper filtration.
Thanks to the arrangement of the filters, their remarkable absorption power and the special flow, the OIL STOP unit can be used in any environment without causing acoustic pollution. Where very low noise levels are required, optional silencers model AFON or a soundproofed fan box can be supplied.
